Juliana Buhring: Breaking Free, Breaking Records

Juliana Buhring’s life story is almost impossible to summarize. She is an ultra-endurance cyclist, bestselling author, activist, and the first woman to set a Guinness World Record for Fastest Solo Female Circumnavigation of the Globe by Bicycle, riding over 18,000 miles across 19 countries in just 152 days.

But her story didn’t begin on a bike.

Juliana grew up inside the controversial religious group Children of God, separated from her mother at a young age, and endured years of instability before eventually escaping in her early twenties. She later co-authored the international bestselling memoir Not Without My Sister and went on to write This Road I Ride, chronicling her journey around the world by bicycle.

Since that record-breaking ride, she has placed top-10 overall in events like the Transcontinental Race and finished 4th overall in the Trans Am Bike Race across the United States, competing alongside and often ahead of the strongest men in ultra cycling.
